I am experienced educator that has taken his decade of experience to UNC Chapel-Hill as a Training Specialist.
I currently live in Chapel-Hill, NC with my wife and son. I was born in Raleigh, NC where I grew up and graduated from Sanderson high school. I attended Appalachian State University as a Music Education Major. My main instruments are Clarinet and Saxophone and secondarly I can play the piano and some brass instruments.
While are Appalachian State Univeristy I got to see the rise of the univeristy and football program. I attended all three FCS national title games and the greatest upset in history Appstate vs Michigan. While those were certaintly highlights I truely appreciated my professors for all the knowledge they gave me.
I moved back to Raleigh and inspite of the economic crash in 2008 I found my first job at Coats Erwin Middle School. After two years at CEMS I moved to Raleigh and taught Band and Ochestra at Carroll Middle School. Finally in 2013 I found the perfect fit in schools at North Garner Middle School. I spent the rest of my teaching career here with students earning superior ratings, auditioning and attending county, district and state honors bands, while completing many adminstrative duties and providing professional development for my colleagues.
At the 10 year mark I decided to leave teaching and try to persue other career options. I attended UNC Chape-Hills Coding Bootcamp and earned a certification in web coding. I learned HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, MongoDB, Node.JS, REACT, and many others.
After the completion of my certificate I was hired by UNC Chapel-Hill as a Finance Training Specialist in January 2019.
Provide Training on PeopleSoft Finance Systems, Design and create curriculum for new courses, Create and Update training materials.
